Nurturing you and your choir’s full potential: your journey starts here with education, experience, and excellence.
Tansy is an internationally acclaimed choral director and clinician whose aim as a conducting teacher is to support choir leaders in being comfortable in front of their choir both in terms of gesture and leadership, and rehearsal technique. Tansy focuses on guiding clients to communicating effectively through their gesture and language, and leading organized and well-paced rehearsals, so that the time with the choir makes maximum impact. Sessions are encouraging, nurturing, and directly relevant to the client’s needs. They include material and content that is delivered in a professional, inspiring, and positive way, with the aim of provoking professional thought and reflection to enhance your own best practice in choral leadership.
Insightful sessions in a supportive and friendly environment, the 1:1 lessons are invaluable, especially for those with busy diaries, or who would like a refresher check-in. They enable the client to take the time to evaluate their current skills and toolkits, alongside making some space to develop and try new ideas, but without needing to leave home or go on a course, and with the care and guidance of a coach who is working at the forefront of choral conducting.
Alongside her role as Director of Music at Peterborough Cathedral, Tansy is also actively engaged in choral direction tutoring for numerous UK and International clients, examples of which include BBC Sing while you work, Creative Oundle, Royal School of Church Music, and the Royal College of Organists.
